Ereuvir has the ability, when he chooses, to understand the sins of the souls that end up in his domain, but he is not psychic and he is not always the best judge of subterfuge or lying. He doesn't really need to be, to fulfill his role. But what he is, is old and someone who has seen a lot of humanity, even if he is not human himself. Ashley is, in some ways, a complete mystery to him, a bit strange but all the more beautiful for it, but the tone here rings loud and clear when paired with the actions and Ereuvir laughs, softly, winds an arm around him so he's not fully resting on the glass, the gesture unconsciously possessive. He murmurs just behind his ear,
"Who do you hope to find in hell? Someone you long for enough to condemn them to torment or someone you hate enough to hope to watch suffer?" The plug pulses inside Ashley as Ereuvir asks, showcasing how dangerous the question is, though it seems more so because Ereuvir is interested in giving him what he wants, rather than dangerous because he's offended.
